Hello world!

I am very excited.Han Zuyderwijk

After a few weeks of preparation, I have decided that today is a great day to start my blogcast (blog + podcast) about CE marking certification, European technical regulations and standards. Quite to my surprise, I found that there currently exists no blog nor podcast on these topic. And that is strange.

Let me explain.

For 10 years now, I am running a consulting service assisting companies to obtain the CE marking for their products. During these time, I have seen that there is a lot of unclarity and even many misunderstandings about the CE certification. This in spite of the fact that in these 10 years a lot more information became available. Apparently, there is still a great need for clear information about CE marking. And that is what I intend to offer in my blog and in my podcasts.

But that is not all.

The CE regulations and the European standards that pertain to them, are changing very regularly. These changes may affect the CE compliance of products with CE marking. For that reason, manufacturers, importers and distributors need to monitor the adoption of new regulations and standards, as well as amendments to existing regulations and standards. With this blogcast I want to help you stay abreast of regulatory developments.

As I am writing to inform you, it would be great if you let me know what kind of information you would like to read or hear more about.

    Hello,

As an info-junkie since I was a child, I’m always on the lookout for new sources of information.

Having been in the electrical product safety compliance trade for 25+ years, I agree that there is a lot of mis-information out there with respect to CE Marking and other standards issues.

First of all, readers would like to know more about you – the writer of a blog that might help them clarify CE Marking or standards issues. A CV or resume would be very helpful. We don’t even know your name.

Secondly: there are a number of blogs addressing CE Marking and similar issues; some are excellent, others, less so. See:

    easycomplianceguide.blogspot.com/
    ce-marking.blogspot.com/
    globalcompliance.blogspot.com/

And, on the Safety Link, the web’s most comprehensive collection of electrical product safety and standards resources at: there are a number of CE Marking resources.

Good luck with your new venture. I’ll be watching it for updated information re CE Marking, etc.

    Regards, Arthur Michael
